I am the great granddaughter of Michael and Letitia McConnell McGurk. We have been to beautiful Sheskinshule and are so grateful to you for saving the home my grandmother grew up in known as Letty’s Farm. It was quite an emotional day when we walked through her home. I have completed much of our family history on the McConnell side but have no information on the McGurk side. Michael died apporox 1900 and I would love to find his burial site. Letty had 5 children: Bernard, Mary, Catherine, Rose and James. Thank you to my cousins for taking us around Sheskinshule and treating us royally. Wonderful website.

Special thanks to Father Eugene for touring us about the Parish. Sister Jeannette and Sister Mary Agnes (from the USA) so enjoyed their visit. Especially enjoyed meeting the Devlins. Our absolute best to everyone in GreenCastle Parish!

girl What a wonderful website! It is easy to navigate, and gave me so much information about Greencastle Parish.

I especially love the picture of the woman walking through your green countryside, since that is ME whistle , during our recent whirlwind visit with Fr. Hasson.

Being with you was walking a little bit in the heart of God. Peace, hello

Hello Fr. Eugene, from Sr. Liz Sweeney amd me! I grew up in Greencastle, Pa. a small farming town founded by John Allison and named for the Greencastle in Ireland! Our township was Antrim and our school system
was "Greencastle Antrim" There was no formal church in Greencastle until 1964 when St. Mark the Evangelist Church was built. Prior to that Mass was celebrated in any space available such as the ballroom of the only hotel in town, a funeral home and in a house the parish purchased prior to the building of the church. You might find it interesting to visit the web site of the church in Greencastle, Pa where the pastor is Fr. Joseph Sturha. Hope to visit your "Greencastle " with Liz! Blessings! whistle
